Ben Wilson

Managing Director

Ben is a principal of Gaia Natural Capital and has more than ten years’ professional experience, spanning investment banking, funds management and agribusiness.

Prior to Gaia, Ben worked at Lucerne Investment Partners and Canaccord Genuity, and is a co-founder of Copperhead Sandalwood.

Ben has managed a wide variety of equity capital markets and private and public M&A transactions, primarily in the agriculture, resources, and natural capital sectors.

At Gaia, Ben is responsible for corporate development and primary engagement with capital markets associated with the natural capital sector.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Economics

Nicholas Cayzer

Director, Corporate Markets

Nicholas is a Director, Corporate Markets at Gaia and has over five years of experience in financial markets, specialising in corporate finance and principal investments. Nicholas has managed transactions in both public and private markets, primarily in the Natural Capital sector over the past two years.

At Gaia, Nicholas is responsible for creating research-based model portfolios of carbon credits that meet client requirements.

He also assists the team in originating carbon projects and capital market transactions through the firm’s relationships with carbon exchanges, brokers and project developers.

Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business.

Daniel Harper

Director, Sustainability

Daniel is the Director of Sustainability at Gaia and the founder of specialist sustainability consulting firm, Cool Planet. Established in 2007, Cool Planet is Australia’s longest running carbon neutral consultancy and has helped more than 3,000 businesses improve their sustainability profiles.

Daniel has extensive experience delivering high quality outcomes across sustainability, carbon neutrality reporting, energy and waste efficiency and circular economy engagements for government and private sector clients.

At Gaia, Daniel is responsible for delivering Climate Active certification and sustainability engagements and implementing Gaia’s carbon credit model portfolios.

Michael Loughnan

CFO

Michael is currently the CFO for a Family Office with interests covering Energy, Resources and Real Estate.

Michael commenced his career at KPMG, and during his six-year tenure became a leading tax consultant in the energy and natural resources space, with a particular focus on Chinese and Japanese national corporations.

In 2014, Michael joined brother Daniel as a director of accounting and advisory firm Danpalo Group, servicing both listed and unlisted entities.

Michael has played a key role in driving the growth of Gaia Natural Capital and its related businesses, serving as CFO and Director of Copperhead Sandalwood.

Tim Hannon

Consultant

Tim is a Consultant to Natural Capital investment firm Gaia Natural Capital.

Prior to this role, Tim was a partner at global investment bank Goldman Sachs. Over his 20-year career he held several senior positions – he was Head of Australian Emerging Companies, Head of Australian Equities and Global Head of Real Estate and Infrastructure. He was responsible for managing circa $10 billion of investor capital across Australian Equities, Fixed Interest, Global Real Estate and Global Infrastructure.

At Gaia, Tim leads carbon credit and carbon project origination through the firm’s research-based investment process. He heads up the primary relationship with buyers of carbon credits to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and investor mandates.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Post Graduate Finance Degree, and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.
